Fall Camp 2011

Treasure Chest Building

Store your most cherished valuables in a one-of-a-kind treasure chest - the one that you build yourself!  You will use your two hands and real tools to measure, saw, sand, nail, hammer and drill wood.  In the process we will learn about the elements of strong structure and the role of support as well as cross beams in construction.  We will end the week by making a special pencil holder and a smart wooden game.

Grade: 1-4
Hours: 9am-4pm/Extended care 8-9am/4-6pm at $10/hr in advance ($12 ad hoc)
Fee: $375 each session

Top Chef – Fall Cooking
Welcome the Fall by preparing for the season’s favorite holidays: Thanksgiving and Halloween.  Using seasonal fruits and vegetables we will cook savory dishes such as maple-roasted butternut squash, risotto and pumpkin soup.  We will also satisfy our sweet tooth and bake delicious desserts including gingerbread and apple tart.  Once you are back home you can cook these same dishes and share them with your friends and family.
